Newar Samaj Hong Kong held a meeting with its executive committee members on proposed scholarship/award fund and has ruled out to provide one-year scholarship to a pupil in recognition to his/her achievement and effort for cultural, academic and lingual expertise, studying in “Jagat Sundar Bonekuthi Prathamik Vidhyalaya”. Jagat Sundar Bonekuthi is the only Newari-medium school in Kathmandu. It was established in 1992 and has been offering quality education in Newari language.  At this initial stage of our organization, this is a small effort to encourage development of our communal culture, language and tradition.
